A few questions: 1.Why all registered users can share and edit one global setting,it's dangerous. It should only be edited by administrators or every body should have his/her own setting. 2.Can you take preventive measures?Other newer might make the same mistake as me. 3.Actually,I still don't know how to add my articles into you wiki to help other programmers?I wrote five articles in Chinese before, they can be translated into English.See cppcms group of my blog: http://blog.csdn.net/sheismylife. It seems that the users area has not this feature. I still don't understand the rules of your wiki now.I and other newer need one document that tells us how to add our articles step by step. Users area is a area that only registered users can operate (not visitors) and it contains general settings. As you notices you had changed wiki title, wiki contact information and copyrights line. You could clearly see that you changed things that should not being changed. You could revert the changes or drop a mail telling that you did something wrong and asking to fix it. > I just want to find a way to add my articles about CppCMS into the wiki to help others. >陈抒 You can read this tutorial linked from the main page. http://art-blog.no-ip.info/wikipp/en/page/wiki_editing >Best regards >http://blog.csdn.net/sheismylife > > I reverted the registration option so now anybody can register on the wiki again. Also **you** would have to re-register once again as I deleted your account. Next time, please be careful with what are you doing. It is fine to update wiki and create new pages - that is wiki was created for, but you should see what and how should be done. Hi, Last night,I tried to add a test article using Users Area with user name 'csfreebird'. But I didn't know how to use it correctly ,maybe I made one mistake. I just want to find a way to add my articles about CppCMS into the wiki to help others. 陈抒 Best regards http://blog.csdn.net/sheismylife On Sat, Dec 24, 2011 at 5:36 AM, Artyom Beilis <art...@ya...> wrote: > Hello, > > Due to acts of vandalism on the wiki page I had > temporary disabled registration of new users on the wiki. > > The user that seems to be responsible for the actions was deleted. > Every existing user have to login again to be able to work. > > > > Artyom Beilis > -------------- > CppCMS - C++ Web Framework: http://cppcms.sf.net/ > CppDB - C++ SQL Connectivity: http://cppcms.sf.net/sql/cppdb/ > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Write once. Hello, Due to acts of vandalism on the wiki page I had temporary disabled registration of new users on the wiki. The user that seems to be responsible for the actions was deleted. Every existing user have to login again to be able to work. In any case I see your point. You want to do all of this step by step. ----------------------- Exactly, a simple but complete MVC tutorial, it comes to mind an Address Book, a Warehouse - Shop. Daniel |

Also before you begin I'd strongly recommend you to do the beginning: - Build CppCMS with minimalistic options (no ICU, No openssl, no libgcrypt) - Build simple hello world application that is "Statically" linked with CppCMS - Hardcode the path to the configuration file in the code: int main(int argc, char **argv) { putenv("CPPCMS_CONFIG=/path/to/config.js"); ... } - Make sure that service.socket="stdin" Once you can upload the executable and start (no missing libraries etc.) try to configure the FastCGI handler see that it works. Then you can go further, setup startup options, libraries etc. In any case you need to consult your service provider about running FastCGI executables on your hosting. Also I'd strongly recommend using VPS for running CppCMS based services. Fixed in trunk of cppdb. Now if exception is thrown during use of a connection the connection is not recycled. Marcel, thanks for the reply, I had just joined the list and had settings wrong so I didn't get your reply directly but found it in the digest archive and have pasted it below.. Anyway, I can install programs in my home directory but I cannot directly edit httpd.conf. I can add apache handlers through a very basic interface, it lets me give two arguments, through a config page with an "Addhandler" form. So I have successfully added a handler 'fastcgi-script' for .fcgi extensions, but how do I test that for example with the hello_world app that I've built ? I haven't found any doc yet on running the example programs that get built with cppcms. thanks, Keith Message: 2 Date: Mon, 19 Dec 2011 22:57:21 +0100 From: Marcel Hellwig <ke...@co...> Subject: Re: [Cppcms-users] any "getting started" docs? Hello Artyom: Would be great to have a tutorial for a small project, nothing fancy but a functional project to start using cppCMS. At work we're building a complex system using Oracle ADF Framework, it has a many issues, but I've found this tutorial very intuitive and functional, so you should to take a look : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_55/jdtut_11r2_55_1.html The point is that we need a small MVC project, using no more than 3 tables using postgreSQL or MySQL, The project could show how to : - Connect to DB using cppDB - Create forms - Create a master detail View - Create Sql based LOV's ( List of Values ) - Create Page navigation for a table of records - Validate forms - Session variables - Interact with jquery - Create a search view This really would help to attract new users to cppCMS world :) Cheers ! Hello CppCMS users, I'm aware of the fact that CppCMS's documentation is far from being perfect. What areas of the documentation would you like to see being improved in fist place: - Examples, if so what kind of examples? - Tutorial, about what topics? - General concepts? What kind of concepts? What type of programming? - Improve current existing documentation? In what way? - Something else? What? Also, FYI, new two "general concepts" pages added to the wiki: http://art-blog.no-ip.info/wikipp/en/page/cppcms_1x_application_lifetime http://art-blog.no-ip.info/wikipp/en/page/cppcms_1x_event_loop Waiting for inputs from you?
