Hi support (which I assume will be Michael?),

I'm trying to use the CppChecker with an eclipse based IDE (using CDT) by Metaware. I'm not thinking that you'll know the specific IDE but perhaps I can check that CppChecker will work with the version of eclipse it is using?

The IDE version is derive from CDT 6.0 and has (unknown) customisations.
The Eclipse platform is Version: 3.5.1

Minus the unknown customisations, is there any incompatibilities with the versions listed?

Also, the CppChecker logging doesn't appear to work when directing it to the console. It does work when directing it to a file. I get the following error.
> Warning: no files to check in call to checkResources!

So, it seems like the project file might not be read correctly. On thing that crossed my mind was that we use linked resources. Would that impact the plugin.. .i.e., can it deal with these?

Many thanks in advance,
James

    Hi James,

would you please try the new version, available here:
    www.jaylib.org/cppchecker/test

I solved some major issues, but I'm not sure if those customizations you mentioned have any effects.

Also make sure that your source and header file extensions are listed in the view
    Window/ Preferences / C/C++/ File Types

Hope that'll solve it - if not or if you see other problems, please let me know by posting it here or:
    michael.schulte at gmx.org

    Thanks
    Michael

CppChecker is a free project, so I have to answer requests in my spare time. I will check your request as soon as possible.

    one other thing:
the directories where the actual source files are, have to be added to the source file section of CDT or the cppchecker won't check the directories.

    Hi Michael,

Some joy so far. I've noticed that if I create a clean C++ project it worked for a time but then mysteriously stopped.

At the moment I will have to shelve looking at this but will pick it up later (hopefully) as it looks like an excellent tool, one which I'd like to use.

Many thanks for you help & I hope you won't mind me picking this up again at a later date.

    Regards,
    James

    Hi James,

so what do you actually use?
gcc, vc, pc-lint, cppunit and/or doxygen? On Linux or Windows?

If you still have problems with the plug-in, maybe we should clarify this by eMail?

    Best regards
    Michael
