I added a MIME subproject at sf, if we could add tasks there we could be able to give Allister a guide for how to progress with this. Also, more generally, we're quite lazy about updating the tracker and task list at sf. I don't want to overstate its importance, but I think its important to track progress. Could we turn this TODO list into tasks, and turn a set of tasks into a 1.0 milestone? We could also close some of the tasks in HTTP integration now that some of them have been done. G |

Guilty. :D I've been having problems staying connected to Sourceforge lately through HTTPS from the office connection. It's my excuse for not updating the trackers as often as I'd like, and I think it's something that's unique to the network set-up from where I am (I hate transparent proxies and "smart loadbalancers"). > Could we turn this TODO list into tasks, and > turn a set of tasks into a 1.0 milestone? I tried updating the ticket for a synchronous HTTP client, but I'm having trouble staying logged on to Sourceforge. I'll look for a better way to do this. Thanks Glyn! -- Dean Michael C. The reason I ask is that I've taken a look at http://www.assembla.com/ and found that its a lot easier to use, plus it has chat and discussion features that aren't available with sf. This is an aside, I'm not suggesting we switch straight away, but it might be a good solution for the longer term. G |

I've talked with the network administrator and it seems he's resolved the issue from my end. :D > The reason I ask is that I've taken a look at http://www.assembla.com/ and > found that its a lot easier to use, plus it has chat and discussion features > that aren't available with sf. > > This is an aside, I'm not suggesting we switch straight away, but it might > be a good solution for the longer term. > I agree we ought to look for something else, but right now Sourceforge hosts us for free and already has stuff we need -- it's just a matter of actually making it part of the workflow. I personally like using Trac more along with Subversion to integrate issue tracking with development, but as it stands right now I don't think we can afford to host the project on a separate dedicated development environment that supports Trac. I haven't looked at assembla.com yet -- but if Google decides to support the Boost software license in Google Code Project Hosting, I'd switch to that anytime. Please expect more tracker activity from me from now on. :) -- Dean Michael C. Berris Software Engineer, Friendster, Inc. |
