I have created a patch for building debian packages and would like to maintain this packages in future. It creates three packages (libcc++, libcc++-dev and libcc++-doc) which are lintian-clean and install cleanly.
I hope nobody of You (especially the copyright-holders) has any arguments against including CommonC++ in Debian.
Currently I assigned it to GPL2 since there seems to be some obscurities with the license (Webpage says LGPL, Copying file says GPL) so I took the more restrictive one.
The patch is available on http://cyberlady.arcs.ac.at/~bernhard/CommonC++-1.2.0-debian.diff and I have also sent a copy to David Sugar aka dyfet.

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
First, the exact term of license does permit one to take Common C++ and redistribute it under a "pure" GPL (or GPL2) if so desired rather than the modified GPL which permits some of the extra privileges of the LGPL that is used right now. Also, a Debian package set is now in cvs for Common C++ for the next release, I think originally based on yours. I would also be happy to have someone who seperately maintains the debian package tree for this project.
