Crispy Plotter 1.8 has been released. This new version can be considered a major release with a lot of new features (see release notes for a full list):
The parser of Crispy Plotter has been rewritten from scratch with huge speed improvements (evaluation usually runs twice as fast). With the new parser, any expression can be assigned to variables, which allows more powerful function expressions. In earlier versions variables values had to be numbers.
Also raster images are exported with greatly improved quality (thanks to Anti-Aliasing) and images can be exported in the three additional formats TIFF, PNG and GIP. The preview of the image export dialog is now much more accurate. Font sizes, thickness of lines and the cooridnate grid layout are displayed correctly.
The documentation ("user manual") has been switched to HTML Help powered by the Sphinx documentation system. Also the help content has been completely (and lovingly handcrafted) rewritten and updated to the latest features.
Variables with simple number values can be modfied by a new slider that appears when the variable name is left clicked in the variable editor. The range of the slider will depend on the size of the variable value.
Last but not least, 1D Perlin Noise has been added as a new built-in function. Multiple octaves of Perlin noise can be used to model natural phenomena.
Enjoy the new release!
