This is a particular issue with RH where "gpg-pubkey" packages are installed when running 'yum update' (I believe?!).

Probably modify "-s" to accept a list of packages and default to all if no package list is provided?

why wouldn't you use " | grep -v gpg-pubkey" for those cases?

just confirmed after running this set of errata updates - started from identical local and remote rpmdbs and now gpg-pubkey packages are listed as different
