Hey guys, I am pleased to announce the release of Cournal 0.2.1. It's a minor release, which is entirely compatible with 0.2 clients and servers. The most prominent change is the setup.py script, which finally allows a proper system-wide installation and distribution packaging of Cournal. If you want create a package for your distribution tell us about it. Also see our packages for Gentoo [1] and Arch Linux [2]. In related news, we now have a new website [3] whose domainname was sponsered by Martin Grohmann, thanks a lot! There isn't a whole lot of content just yet, but Simon Vetter is already working on a new structure and layout. Best regards, Fabian Henze [1] https://github.com/flyser/cournal-gentoo [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=61201 [3] http://cournal-project.org/ |

Hey guys, I am pleased to announce the first public release of Cournal. Cournal is a collaborative note taking application, which is heavily inspired by Xournal [1] and Gobby [2]. It currently supports annotating PDF files with simple colored strokes, but nothing fancy like adding and deleting pages. It is capable of exporting PDF files as well as .xoj files. The server supports persistent storage and simultaneous editing of multiple documents. You can expect more features soon :-) It is developed mostly by me and two friends of mine to take and share notes in the university. It's written in Python3 with GTK and uses the twisted library for the networking layer. For more information see https://github.com/Flyser/cournal/blob/master/README.md Patches and Feedback are always welcome, just fork it on https://github.com/flyser/cournal and subscribe to the mailing list [3].
