Thanks for the response. That has pointed me in the right direction. I have changed the users username to be their email address and everything is now working.

If you set things up so that you use system accounts and log in using a
plain userid, sqwebmail has to guess what your domain is. If you do not
specify the hostname file, see "Runtime configuration" in INSTALL, sqwebmail
uses your system hostname. That's where this is probably coming from.
