Can someone show me an example (or point me to a place that has an =
example) of how to set up aliases when using maildrop w/userdb?
I'm not sure how to go about setting that up. Maybe my logic is wrong. =
Here's how I see the sequence of events (using qmail by the way):
1. mail comes in
2. qmail looks at /var/qmail/users/assign
I have a wildcard assignment in assign:
3. qmail hands email off to maildrop (which is run as the alias user =
because of #2)
4. maildrop looks for recipient in userdb
5. if recipient is found, maildrop looks in homedir of recipient for =
6. mail is delivered
Now if I'm not totally wrong about the above, the question I have is, if =
maildrop doesn't find the user in the userdb, how does it know where to =
look for .qmail alias files? I have several .qmail-foo alias files in =
/var/qmail/alias, but they don't seem to work unless I remove the entry =
from the assign file.
Any help would be appreciated.
