#47 connection always times out,

I have a eMac G4 with OS X 10.2.8 which Iam running chicken
on. I'm trying to connect to a new compaq windows XP machine,
running Real VNC, I have tryed everything I cant think of and am
out of ideas. Both computers are hooked up to the same router,
both can access the internet. The most hopeful thinig is that
when I try to connect while the PC monitor is asleep, it will kick
on, I know the connection is reaching the other machine.

-i researched, but is chichen going to work with real VNC 3.3
-i tried different ports and diplay numbers
-all my options seem to be ok
-and I have tried with and without a password, being needed

Always times out.

The quick thing to check is that you've got the IP address of the host
machine correct. Also, verify that you're using the same display number
on the server and in Chicken.

If you've verified these, you should make sure that you can ping the host
from the client (/Applications/Utilities/Network Utility will come in
helpful, don't remember if it's present on Jaguar though). If you can't
ping the host, you won't be able to connect. If
you're using a firewall, or have the software firewall enabled on either
machine, make sure it can pass the VNC port traffic. VNC defaults to
port 5900 for display 0, 5901 for display 1, etc.

I have a Power iBook G3 with OSX 10.2.8. I'm runningChicken of the
    VNC 2.0.2, I think. I know it's 2.something. I'm tryong to connect to a
Toshiba Laptop WindowsXP or Millinium machine. I didn't put any
information about the other computer when I filled in the Login window, it
didn't ask for any infor mation about the other machine. Were not
hooked up to the same router and they are not running any kind of VNC
type programs at all. I don't know what to do. It just keeps coming up
with "Time out" connection. I have dsl and they have dial up
accelerator. Could some one please help!!!!! Go over the settings with
    me etc.
