When working over a very slow connection, it can be difficult to know what state things are in by inspection of the remotely displayed image. It would be handy to have some indication of whether massive flows of data are still going on or whether things have settled down.

I've been led to believe that CotVNC polls for updates. If this process could compute a percentage of polls for which no data is flowing and made a small indicator (say in the window title bar) of this value, it might be very helpful.

Sounds cool, but may not be possible. We just live at this end of the pipe -
we don't know what's on the other end - could be a sink full, a tub full, or an
    ocean full.
What we COULD probably do is say how far behind we are in transmitting
events. Say you moved the mouse 3 seconds ago and we still have not had
the time to send, we could say so. Not what you asked for, but maybe
    helpful...

This could be very difficult for us to implement due to the way we're
pipelining stuff, but at some point, the pipeline needs a good cleaning
and overhaul, so I'm going to leave this one here to remind me to think
about implementing this when that time comes.
