I am running Chicken of the vnc on my Mac latest OS, and can not get anything but a black screen on my home Mac. I can however loging from home to my studio machine just fine. I have made shure all setting are correct to not sleep and have set it up just like my office since it works here.
What else could be wrong. It looks like it connects just fine but a black screen.
I fixed a black-screen issue of mine.
The machine I was attempting to log into was running in 256-color mode. I set it to this since I only ever VNCed into this box, and figured this would decreate the bandwidth necessary to VNC into it. While the server was running in 256-color mode, I was able to windowsVNC in, but COTVNC would give me nothing but a black screen.
I bumped the far end screen up to 16-bit color, and now COTVNC works fine.
