Using v2.0b2 on a PowerBook G4 connected to a Linux
RealVNC server as packaged with Debian testing.

Go the Preferences..., select Keyboard, and
assign Command-1 as the Paste keyboard shortcut (I also
tried
some other keys, eg Command-F8, which behaved the same
way, I'm pretty sure Command-V would as well, but I
didn't want to use
that since that's a meaningful combination on the
remote system).

In your favorite browser, bring up a page and copy some
text.
Switch to cotvnc, and in a window, paste using Command-1.

Rather than inserting "text", the Command modifier gets
transmitted with each character, so, if you use the
default cotvnc modifier settings, you end up inserting
meta-t, meta-e, meta-x, meta-t (ie each character but
with the 8bit set as well).

I've noticed that if I continue to hold the Command key
down, and press 1 several times, after the 2nd, 3rd or
4th time, the actual "text" gets inserted without the
modifier.

If I set Paste to something like F8 by itself without a
modifier, pressing F8 will paste the "text" as is. If
I have window focus enabled on the remote system, I can
use the Edit/Paste menu item as well.

Fixed in CVS for 2.0b3. I'll leave this open until we ship.
