A few people (including myself) have noticed this and
also posted on versiontracker. Immediately upon opening
b3 will not connect to any of my saved servers: 2 Mac,
1 Windows, 1 Slackware Linux. Opening b2 they all work
fine.

From Console:

I suspect that we might not be translating the saved Display number
properly. 2.0b3 allows you to specify a port number independently from
the display number, so you can _either_ put host:port into the Host field
_or_ you can put your display number into the Display field.

The port number is 5900 plus the display number. So the default
Display, number zero, is port 5900. Display one is port 5901, and so on.

You should verify that your port or display is set properly. The default is
to use Display 0, and that's correct unless you've explicitely customized
    it on the server side.

I too have been unable to connect to uncustomised OSXvnc
1.5 and WinVNC servers with Chicken of the VNC 2.0b3. The
error is always "ZlibHex unknown subencoding 44 encountered."

    Deleting the com.geekspiff.chickenofthevnc.plist
preferences file after quitting Chicken of the VNC and then
launching and trying to connect again didn't resolve the
    problem.

In the meantime I've reverted to 2.0b2, which will connect
    to these servers.

Additionally, this bug would appear to be a duplicate of Bug
1266804 "Connection Terminated, ZLibHex Unknown Encoding"
