Yes, we agree that CottageMed remains one of the pre-eminent introductory EMR's for beginning practices with its low overhead and rapid ease of use. It is not competitive, nor are most EMR's, on the insurance billing and reimbursement side of things where an Athena Clinicals approach of large teams and large-scale contextual programming produce much better returns with a tolerably easy interface design. I used CottageMed for more or less 5 years, then I moved to Practicefusion.com. At the present time I use it to generate paper scripts but not as EMR. Hi, My wife and I are starting an Infectious Disease Practice from scratch. She is BC in IM & BE in ID We have a large > 24,000 pop of LGBT folks in our county. Though she just finished her ID fellowship we are pursuing Locums to fund the practice as opposed to W-2 employment because all the contracts presented thus far have onerous non-compete / indemnification clauses which preclude...

Here is additional support re: our timeline for upgrading CottageMed to the newest (and annoyingly so) Filemaker file format upgrade. To: Alastair So, yes, it seems the conversion will take some support from our development team. We had focused on supporting all affordable platforms and encouraged Filemaker not to unnecessarily change their file formatting. This would be a mid-year project given our donation based non-profit and budgetary landscapes. Stefan -- Stefan Topolski MD Assist. Professor,...

The chiropractic layout in CottageMed is simply one version of many potential versions which a DO asked us to install for him. We can guide others through some of the simpler processes for using and adapting CottageMed to their needs. The CottageMed program is still actively supported and in much use in alternative and developing nation projects including USAID, UN, and NGO's on all continents (except perhaps Australia). -stefan topolski, designer and chief programmer and MD
