I've already recorded all of the .bk files (via the line-in of the PC) and converted it into
MP3 format (i could place it at the disposal). I think that would be the easiest solution to implement the background music

I already thought about that because of the CDROM version. The CD audio code should be removed and the VOC sample player has always been a quick hack anyway.

I've found another solution, which I will try.
I have found in the internet two open-source FM sound generators (MAME, AdPlug). The first experiments (MAME + SdlMixer) looks promising
I'll look into the Amiga version, which I remember had much better sound than the DOS version.
