Huh are you under xemacs/cvs ? cvs under xemacs is great also

if you aren't that's strange
on my xemacs it works ok it creates a new ChangeLog if need be
and gives the file and the function where the cursor is
and you just type the log entry and when you have finished
type C-c C-c 
you don't want to write the entry type C-c C-k
