ok I forgot to update debian/rules (updating the share lib version)
in order to avoid doing that in the future I automated the change using 
configure and creating debian/rules.in

configure.in has been changed
debian/rules.in created
debian/rules removed from cvs

those changes will appear REAL SOON NOW (tm) in the cvs repo
