We are glad to announce that Prof. Paulo Laranjeira da C. Lage, from the Chemical Engineering Program (PEQ) of COPPE/UFRJ, has joined as a member of the CoppeTeX project. Since his early COPPE days, or more precisely, since he was a PhD intern at University of California, Irvine, Prof. Paulo has been using and encouraging the adoption of LaTeX as a free software alternative for writing technical documents.
This is the first step towards making CoppeTeX officially supported by COPPE. It will also contribute to the dissemination and maintenance of CoppeTeX in future.

CoppeTeX has launched its new website yesterday. It is more compact and clean than the previous one, but still containing all information as before, and users now can follow our latest news through RSS feeds.

* Several advisers support, up to three, for doctorate thesis.
* Better line spacing control, through the new 'doublespacing' option.
* Now, Natbib package is officially supported, allowing numbered and alphabetically sorted bibliography, and citation styles.

The CoppeTeX tool kit contains a LaTeX class suitable for writing thesis and dissertations at the Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering (COPPE/UFRJ). It comes with a LaTeX document class, an unsorted BibTeX style and a Makeindex style for creating lists of abbreviations and symbols.... read more

We are currently working on a website that will group all of the information needed by the CoppeTeX users. It will include news, release history, an HTML version of the user's manual, and details about downloads, installation and our mailing list. There will be also sections devoted to our users.
