Hi there, Following the wiki pages I found out that to start using Conzilla I have to have a personal space or account on the collaboration server and to mail the team my request. My humble understanding is that this forum is the place where to send such request, please readers of this list to excuse me if I am wrong. Please, create such for me as george.petrov or mrge.org if the first is taken. Best regards, George |

Hi, I would like to use Conzilla, can you set up an account for a new user on the collaboration server? My name is Dario Salvi as username choose the one you prefer. Thanks very much! Dario |

Hi! We just released Conzilla2.2. See http://www.conzilla.org/wiki/Overview/Release22 for the most important changes. For running Conzilla2.2 it is recommended to use webstart, see instructions on: http://www.conzilla.org/wiki/Download/Main As these mailinglists have not generated much activity (perhaps partly due to a lack of easily accessible web interfaces), we will now try a google group instead. If you want to be kept updated, please join: http://groups.google.com/group/conzilla The conzilla-announce and conzilla-users mailinglists at sourceforge will probably be phased out with time. Greetings, /The Conzilla developers (Currently Matthias and Hannes) |

The Conzilla team is proud to announce the release of Conzilla 2.2 [1]. This is a usability release for improving the user experience and making it easier to perform collaborative conceptual modeling. The major improvements since version 2.1 are: * Undo/redo functionality in edit mode. * Advanced logging for improved user feedback. * Improved "Offline mode". * Keyboard shortcuts for most important editing actions. * Various improvements for editing single concepts and their relations to context-maps and sessions. * Context-Map metadata files (.ccm) and associated mime-type for easy opening of context-maps. * Support for importing collaboration settings from files, makes initial installation easier. * Announcements to the Sindice semantic indexer [2] when publishing context-maps or contributions. * "Source view" for viewing a context-map in RDF. * Multi-threaded loading of context-maps resulting in smoother surfing. * Various improvements in the session manager. * New status bar with information on context-maps. * Splash screen with progress bar when starting Conzilla. ... and many more bugfixes and new features, see the automatically generated change log of our bugtracker [3] for details! Conzilla 2.2 requires a Java Runtime Environment in version 1.5 or newer and can be installed via the download [4] page. If you already have an installation of Conzilla 2.1 it should be sufficient to launch Conzilla via the shortcuts. Java Web Start will then take care of the upgrade. If you have comments or suggestions you can send them directly to the Conzilla mailing lists [5]. Undo button (yes everyone says that!) We have a plan to solve this to the next version. In some detail, we will implement a better history listener (right now only surf actions are remembered in the history) and RDF based statement listener that will allow the fine grained changes to be grouped together into the highlevel history events. > 2. Style sheet editing or similar (I want to do subtle look changes sometimes) Yes, that is definitely going to happen soon... The name of the current release (2.1) is collaborilla. The name of next release (2.2) is stylish. :-) The current stylesheet implementation allows a single global stylesheet. The plan is to allow each map to indicate a stylesheet if the default stylesheet is not what you want. The map, user specified and conzilla default stylesheets will then cascade. The plan is also to let the stylesheet to control the metadata form used as well. Closely related is that we will provide information on concepts-types to simplify the reading of a context-map. This information will be fetched from type descriptions (RDF Schema or OWL) and be presented as a legend using the current stylesheet. > 3. Z-Order changing (Being able to put elements on top of each other > in certain order) Have you tried putting concepts and concept in separate layers? This is currently the only option except removing and adding concepts again. Regarding manipulating the order of concepts and concept-relations, the backend has solutions for changing the Z-order, but we have no user interface for it right now. Would it be enough to have a a submenu with options like: * Bring Forward * Bring to front * Send Backward * Send to Back If so it is easy to fix. > 4. Probably some other stuff =) Bring it on! Anyone on here except me? I'm going to list some of the features I would like to see; 1. Undo button (yes everyone says that!) 2. Style sheet editing or similar (I want to do subtle look changes sometimes) 3. Z-Order changing (Being able to put elements on top of each other in certain order) 4. Probably some other stuff =) Best, Steinn |

Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Hi! Yes Conzilla is alive and in the process of being converted to being a general RDF editor as well as a Concept Browser. The development has been down for some time due to other priorities but we hope to be more active now when we have recently gained some new master thesis students that has focus on some specifics within the Conzilla project. If you have any questions... just ask. /Matthias > Hello Conzilla Team, > > i am see no activiy since month. Hi! I'm pleased to hear that you are trying it out. I guess you are using the webstart version. If not you probably should consider that since it is the one that is most up to date. Try Conzilla 1.1 B2 this one should have the create button that is mentioned in the FAQ. In the version you are using, to create an axon is unneccessary complicated and I actually don't remember from the top of my head how to do it. I've been working on a new version of Conzilla for some time now that stores the graphs in RDF instead of homebrewn XML. If you are interested in aspects of RDF and the semantic web, please tell me and I will try to provide you with the latest version (only available through CVS currently and the build process is still somewhat problematic). Otherwise if your interest are in Conceptual Modeling Conzilla 1.1 is probably sufficient for your needs. /Matthias On Sun, 2004-01-04 at 15:04, Dimitri Pissarenko wrote: > Hello! > > I am new to Conzilla and try to play with it. > > I want to create an axon, yet there is no "Create" button in the > toolbar as described at > http://www.conzilla.org/doc/FAQ/index.html#create > > I am using Conzilla 1.0. > > How can I create an axon? > > TIA > > dap > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials. > Become an expert in LINUX or just sharpen your skills.
