#50 canvas focus problem

when switching canvas' by clicking tabs, the new canvas is not in
focus. This can be problematic when copy/pasting a graphic from
one canvas to another. Copy a graphic on one canvas, switch to
another and paste. The graphic is not pasted unless you click on
the canvas first.
