Here is the message I'm getting whenever I run a flex application from the builder. Same for running in debug mode.

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\NPSWF32.dll

Flex Builder cannot locate the required version of the Flash Player. You may need to install Flash Player 9.0 or reinstall Flex Builder. Do you want to try to run your application with the current version?

I had Flash Player 9.0 installed (debug version).

This was all working until I created a separate windows account and switched over to that.

    I found this post:

    http://www.flexer.info/2007/10/11/flex-debug-not-working-after-updating-to-a-new-version-of-flash-player

After doing this I get the message:

Failed to connect; session timed out.
    Ensure that:
      1. You compiled your Flash application with debugging on.
      2. You are running the debug version of the Flash Player.

when i try to debug an application.

Running applications normally at least works, now.

That might be something to do with that patch. It says that this solves problems when debugging using Mozilla

So the patch didnt really help - actually, thats what led to the "Failed to connect; session timed out" message. My link in the OP was incorrect (should have been to the patch URL).

There is no problem using IE, so I'll just do that from now on.

Also note, that I am now switching to FB 3 beta 3. It was really quick (less than 1 min!) to setup with the existing code :)

Is there somewhere you can submit a bug report to. Either Flash or Mozilla - not sure which?

Well it says only "students and faculty", but worth a shot.

I just reinstalled everything - Flex Builder (2 & 3), Firefox, Flash Player 9 (ActiveX plugin for IE and plugin for non-IE) and everything now works.

So I guess it was just one of those things.

The installers for all of the above can now be found in:

E:\XML Transcript Database Work\3rd Party Tools
