I'm using SuSE Linux to create ConsultComm... so you should be good to go. Your best bet is to install ConsultComm with the .rpm in either YaST2 or another RPM manager. This creates an icon under your "Applications" folder to launch ConsultComm and is usually the easiest way to get things rolling.
Running the ConsultComm script is fine, too. Initially you will see warnings that the files are empty - these are the preferences files that ConsultComm creates to store your settings. You can ignore these warnings as things start up - they're largely diagnostic. Since you are starting ConsultComm for the first time, you can expect to see them.
Are you having any problems starting or running ConsultComm currently?

I have no root privilage, so rpm are out of question.
I tried "java -jar CsltComm.jar", the same as above but without the "-Djava.library.path=syslibs" part. And then it starts and works. There are still warnings, but it works.
So now I'm up and running.

I'm new to ConsultComm, trying to start 3.1.1 on a SuSE Linux. After having the right environment variables set I run the script ./ConsultComm
(I have tried 'java -Djava.library.path=syslibs -jar CsltComm.jar' too, with the same result.)
First run it didn't find the files in ~/CsltComm/ and second run it says
vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
Couldn't read prefs: java.util.prefs.InvalidPreferencesFormatException: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Premature end of file.
Couldn't load theme! java.lang.NullPointerException
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Premature end of file.
Continuing ...
Cannot read projects file: java.util.NoSuchElementException
Cannot read prefs file: java.util.prefs.InvalidPreferencesFormatException: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Premature end of file.

The files are empty. Good or bad?
Are they assuming MS [NL CR] instead of [NL]?
Other ideas?
