#378 ctrl-click to open file (or similar).


I searched the feature-tracker, but was unable to find a similar request.

I would like to be able to open paths/files (relative or absolute) by clicking on them.

    Could you please provide more details? Do you mean the following scenario:
    1. a program outputs a path
    2. the user clicks (or modifier+clicks) on that path
    3. a default program opens (e.g. Explorer window if the path was a directory or Notepad if the path was a .txt file)

    If you did have something like that in mind, I would not hold my breath because there are way too many questions. As a "workaround": select the text and paste it into Open File dialog (or Explorer's address bar). You can also try to type "start " (without quotes but with ending space), paste your text and press Enter.
