No

Console has global transparency settings, and options to set the background of a terminal to an image or the desktop wallpaper.
This is great eyecandy when sitting in front of the computer, however, it causes much unneeded delay when accessing the computer through Remote Desktop, as we have to sit through refresh after refresh of the background.

How about Remote Desktop detection on draw, a' la http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/archive/2006/01/03/508694.aspx
to disable transparency and switch to solid color backgrounds?

this is especially notable in that Remote Desktop will usually disable the desktop background, but a fullscreen Console window will force that bitmap to be drawn anyways.

I'd say just disable it if you plan on using remote desktop :)
