Does anyone know how to set the name of the tab to the hostname of the machine after ssh into it?
if you mean "automatically" (for example, as some Unix terminals do), then it's impossible unless you teach ssh to update console's title.
If you mean "manually" (as in couple-clicks-with-some-typing), then you can use Edit > Rename tab or corresponing hot key. Note that Console Settings > Appearance has couple checkboxes that affect how well Rename tab works - you need to uncheck Use console window title, and you might want to uncheck Show command in tabs. I've also noticed that when you rename the tab *some* things may need to happen before the title actually updated.
Hope it helps a bit.
I'm not sure if I am understanding your query, but you can use
TITLE %COMPUTERNAME%
when the option to use Console windows title for tabs is set.
