#376 Insert mode not working with Windows 7 SP1

Since Windows 7 SP1 upgrade, using Console (2.00.147) with default dos box behaviour starts in overwrite mode rather than insert.
I can press insert to toggle this behaviour, but it only persists until I press enter.

Real dos boxes (started from windows\system32\cmd.exe) have a properties option to choose insert mode (which is enabled).

How can I make insert mode stick?

This is a rather annoying bug. Makes Console seem a lot less useful. Any help?

    I'm on a Win7 x64 SP1 system.

Michael, you're probably enabling that option in the "wrong" cmd.exe. If you're running x64 system, but 32-bit Console, the cmd.exe that you're interested in is in C:\Windows\Wow64 (it's a 32-bit cmd.exe). You can either use View -> Console Window to show the hidden window to change the settings. Or run 32-bit cmd.exe separately and change its settings.

OP, what version of Windows (including 32- or 64-bit) are you running?

You are correct. I switched to the x64 version and I believe this has solved my problem. I did have to use the View -> Console trick and change it to default to Insert Mode. Thanks!
