Thanks for my other post over the gap issue, I was going to reply to that post but I couldn't

For the minimum_size & maximum_width should all the numbers be the same like below?

minimum_size 165 165
maximum_width 165

THANKS

    they need not be. they do exactly what their name says. one specifies maximum size and the other minimum. The real size will be somewhere in between, depending on the width of the text.

    what seems to be the problem?

    Ok, but I don't get having two numbers for the minimum, if it was like this; minimum_size 145 then I could better understand it and then having it like this then;

    minimum_size 145
    maximum_width 165

    So what do the two numbers mean for the minimum_size?

    THANKS

    minimum_size specifies both minimum width AND minimum height. For the maximum, we only have the width setting, height is always unbounded.

    Ok, so then keeping all the numbers the same like below is ok?

    minimum_size 165 165
    maximum_width 165

    THANKS

    yes. if it does what you want it to do, then conky will have no problems with that.
