No

Generally this "patch" changes the behavior of ${scroll} from moving text left till it reaches its end, to move the text in a panning manner (just like in audio players), which comes in handy with ${mpd_smart}, etc.

You may want to keep the old ${scroll} function and put this in an additional function ( eg. ${scroll_pan} ), but since I don't know much about how conky is organized, I didn't manage to do this myself, sorry for that.

I tested it with simple commandline output, and it works fine so far. Since I only changed the scroll part, any graphical usage should be fine, too.

git diff file (cloned on 25 Sep 2010)

UPDATE: The new diff file is not only a git diff file now (in comparison to a normal diff of the 1.8 c-File) but also it includes an extra variable $scrollpan which realizes the panning. So $scroll is not changed
