Hi. the update interval from my conky config is set to 'update_interval 1.5'. After adding the following line: ${tcp_portmon 32768 61000 rhost 0} ${alignr} ${tcp_portmon 32768 61000 rservice 0} the conky update interval raises up to about 6 seconds if there is an rhost IP address which can't be resolved to an dns name. Is there a solution for this problem? Greetings Hartmut |

Using the TCP monitor rhost option results in a DNS lookup on each update. You have 2 options: - Don't use rhost. - Use a DNS cache (like Dnsmasq). Thanks for that hint. I tried dnsmasq and this works great :) On Sun, Feb 26, 2012 at 7:57 PM, Brenden Matthews <br...@di...> wrote: > Using the TCP monitor rhost option results in a DNS lookup on each update. > You have 2 options: > > Don't use rhost. > Use a DNS cache (like Dnsmasq). > > Best, > > Brenden > > On Sun, Feb 26, 2012 at 10:07 AM, Hartmut <fre...@go...> wrote: >> >> Hi. >> >> the update interval from my conky config is set to 'update_interval 1.5'. >> After adding the following line: >> ${tcp_portmon 32768 61000 rhost 0} ${alignr} ${tcp_portmon 32768 61000 >> rservice 0} >> the conky update interval raises up to about 6 seconds if there is an >> rhost IP address which can't be resolved to an dns name. >> >> Is there a solution for this problem? >> >> Greetings >> Hartmut >> >> >> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ >> Virtualization & Cloud Management Using Capacity Planning >> Cloud computing makes use of virtualization - but cloud computing >> also focuses on allowing computing to be delivered as a service. >> http://www.accelacomm.com/jaw/sfnl/114/51521223/ >> _______________________________________________ >> Conky-users mailing list >> Con...@li... >> https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/conky-users > > |
