The introduction of the i-CT framework tool

I-CT (computer as therapy) framework tool is a unique app (can be built as app from available sources accroding to Oracle licence terms) for special education (SEN) and social care. This tool works as central management app including:

• users (class) manager,
• SEN apps manager (following the pre-defined communication protocol) and
• security (rights) manager.

Thus each developer of new SEN app can just focus at the proper educational tasks in his app without the need of handling of app data management stuff around. Such developed app then works as the add-on of this framework tool.

In detail, it offers three roles of profiles:

• administrator (full rights),
• teacher (pupils and apps management) and
• client (pupil - just uses prepared education app).

All profiles are designed for education in special classes for mentally disabled pupils, but can be simply use in common classes too.

This app also supposes the collaboration with other educational apps which works as superstructure apps. Each superstructure app has to meet the communication protocol to be linked with this app (see our project webpage for detail). Such superstructure edu. app is also offered at project (see Yes-NO app under the tab files). In correspondece to these superstructure apps, here (at this web pages) we also present sources of initial set of SEN apps:

• Yes/No app: simple app for AAC (alt. comm.),
• Daily Planner app: simple planner app
• SoundTherapy app: app for music therapy
• GestureTranslator: app for hand gesture language translation
• .... and more ....

These apps can be used in special education, therapies with ussage of i-CT Framework tool noted above, or just as samples or resources for a development of new SEN apps.

Furthermore, through i-CT Framework tool a teacher can simply manage one or more edu-superstructure apps and prepare them individually for his pupils. Moreover main restrictions required by special educational needs (SEN) can be also setup and consequently applied during the education process.
