This is a note from one engineer to another (I read you are an
electronic/electrical engineer somewhere in a forum comment you made).
What CompPad does is already pretty impressive. The 'solve' function, or
some other iterative function (if..then, do...while, etc) is what would turn
this in to a "killer app" for the engineer. We are all becoming to
complacent with spreadsheets, but functions and macros bury the maths so
deep that people can't get it. I once spent about a week writing a document
to explain how an Excel UDF solved the adiabatic flow calculation.
Have a look at SMath Studio (more of a MathCAD clone) and Euler. If you
could get those so you can have dynamic equations in a document, with all
the related formatting = WOW. It could pull people not just off M$ Office,
but even in to Linux ;-)
Keep going, I know this projects feel unappreciated at times.
