As part of the rewrite of CIB, I'm also re-examining the role JavaScript/Ajax could play in CIB. In the past I've been rather opposed to spending time on JavaScript solutions -- partialyl because I almost always browse with JS turned off, partially because I've never taken the time to learn JS, and partially because I want to code for a wide lowest common denominator in the interface. That said, I'm open to fooling around some with JS as time permits (not too likely in the short-medium term, for me personally, but I beleive there is a growing body of interested developers this summer). Does anyone have any thoughts on where some Ajax based improvements could help with the basic registration process, and still fallback gracefully? Any proposed solutions for dealing with the infamous collision pages? I'd be willing to "require" JavaScript for the Team Administration and Comp Administration pages, if the feature set is sufficiently useful. I'm not willing to require it for the SlidingDoor semi-authenticated interface. Eric |
