Hi,
Account Viewer window has no exit option, i.e.:
- there is no X button on the bottom of the window
- no standard tool bar across the top with the exit icon
- alt-X shortcut doesn't work
Problem appears when using VNC to access a unix server running X-Term. An X-Term window doesn't have a simple close option, like windows has the X in the top right, hence need to rely on a Compiere button to close a window.
Thanks
Jeff

I don't have VNC configured here. I realize the account viewer doesn't have a button to close it, but you should be able to close the window by using the mouse on the title bar.
Could you attach a screenshot so I can get an idea of the differences between VNC and any other remote client software?

Hi,
Screenshot attached of using X-Term via VNC.
Within X-Term the normal MS Windows conventions don't apply. There are 2 icons on the X-Term toolbar - one for minimising the window, and another for shrinking/enlarging the window. On the toolbar, dragging the toolbar only moves it. There is no right-click sensitive menu option in X-Term.
The Account Viewer window is inconsistent because it doesn't have an Exit option, where all other Compiere windows do, and work fine when using X-Term.
Cheers
Jeff

Not sure if it depends on the type of VNC that you use, or a configurtion setting, but for example on VNCUltra connected to Linux I do get the X icon to close windows (same as in Windows)
I'll set this as a feature request to add a close button to the account viewer
