Hi,

Ingres is now an Open Source product, and it is
technically equivalent to Oracle, to which Compiere is
tied today. While it may make strategic sense to make
Compiere database-independent, a more effective
short-term goal may be to port Compiere to Ingres. That
way, we can obtain a fully Open Source stack very quickly.

[Ingres is arguably superior to PostgreSQL in features,
and has equivalents to all the advanced Oracle
capabilities that Compiere leverages.]

Thanks and regards,
Ganesh Prasad

    Hi,
We do not plan to port to any database as it is an
    unsustainable model
