I'm new to Compiere and are seeking advice on this matter:
We are transportation company. For a route (say from location A to B), we charge our customer based on weight transported, i.e:
    Weight                           Price
    Under 100kg                      $50
    100 - 200kg                      $80
    For every additional 50kg        $10

Can I define a product "Transport A-B" and define all of the above requirement for the product, or I have to create different products: "Transport A-B under 100", "Transport A-B from 100-200",etc..?

    Thank you

you could check out the discount schema functionlity as what you describe is very similar to "reduce the unit price as the qty increases'.

We don't charge our client on unit price, but on the package transported, which mean that if we transport a package less than 100kg, we charge the customer $50, if the package is within 100-200kg range, we charge $80/package. Discount schema deals with unit price, so I think it won't help.

I think that one callout in Sales Order Line or Invoice Line on field qty would do this.

When user enter qty callout will make simple lookup and will set price in proper field.
