I would like to view all costs which are caused by an order. Has anybody done this before and how?

You can use the Project Order to plan and then issue your Sales Order. Later you can issue expenses to it.
As your sales order and expenses are tagged to a Project_ID, you can then do your accounts reporting according to a project.
