No

Add the following items:
SDS, s = steel,
SDS  d = diamond  => carbon alloy handle (2x)
SDS

SMS, s = steel,
D.I.D  d = diamond,
SMS  m = metcarb,   => carbon alloy ingot (4x)
i = iron ingot

Remove metcarb tools, add carbon alloy tools using above stuff in the predictable fashion. Discussed affects go on CA tools.

Read comments for the near-finalized workings.

    okay, here we go:

    M=metcarb, D=diamond plate, W=woven CF, B=blaze rod, S=steel plate

    CA Ingot:
    DMS
    MSM
    SMD
    makes 2

    CA Rod:
    WBW
    S.B.S
    WBW
    makes 2

    dem special effects:
    obviously, they dig the things that they're supposed to be used on extremely fast.

    Sword:
    deals up to 100 points of damage in one hit. uses 1 durability point per damage dealt

    Pick:
    Digs a 3^3 cube in the direction you're facing (shift to disable) mines contiguous ores (up to 8). will grab ores diagonally as well.

    Axe:
    I can't really think of anything special for this one. obviously it should treecapitate, but not like paxel does. have it get all contiguous logs (up to a certain amount. 64-128?)
    perhaps it could also have a CAsword-ish effect. except it uses 2 or 3 durability per damage dealt and has a lower cap, 25-50?

    Shovel:
    collects dirt and sand in a flat layer like paxel, except 5x5
    "paxel"s gravel up to 16 blocks

    Hoe:
    tills a large area like metcarb one does. idk how large it should be.
    if possible, I'd like the hoe to be able to call lightning strikes

    thought of something else for either axe or shovel or both: allow them to be used as shears with a fortune-y effect. maybe do this for axe wrt leaves and vines and sheep and for hoe wrt grass/flowers/ferns and crops
