What I can tell you is that I've taken from three trees (two voluntarily, one because we forked from them). What I've done in each of those cases (except the original, of course) is fork, then drop a polite note. Yes but presumably thee were GPL'd. Here we are talking of copyrighted materiel (at computer history center). On the other hand, it is valid to use and cite sources fro research, but whre do you draw the line? -- Hans |
