There has been much hard work on the Communi IM Server alpha2 release, it was set for release but zero hour features have been approved for addition to the build which will take a week or two more to complete.

Features include:
Group support.
Improved XML Configuration
Improved XML Storage Database engine.

Work on the new server release has really been high priority, with the client being left behind for a little while.

The server has undergone a major protocol change as well as an easier to maintain/upgrade internal structure.
Alpha 2 will be released when two more of my current goals are met:
-Improved XML configs
-Concept of private groups/channels.

Hey, alot of work has gone into the alpha2 version of the communi server and client, this has been a major rewrite with a complete protocol specification change (which will be released soon).

ETA's:
Communi-Server alpha2: December 20th
-along with the API/Tech data sheet
Communi-Client alpha2: December 23rd

Because my interest in this project has increased, i have chosen to take it to a higher level.

To achive this i belive a complete rewrite is needed to further improve the design and make the applications easier to maintain, once done the rewrite will be dubed, "alpha 2".

I have submited an alpha of communi server and communi instant messanger, please feel free to test them and submit any bugs to me.
