Hello. I have downloaded the commune client v 0.6, installed it, set up an account using the wizard, and I can connect just fine to commune.netsoc.ucd.ie:3099. But... now what? While I have actively used the net since 1990 (you know, the good old archie, veronica, gopher, ncsa-mosaic days...) I never got into irc. so if this is similar, a brief (1 page or 1/2 page) list of commands would be helpful. The only docs included were install instructions. I'm professionally a *nix sysadmin, so any more complicated testing you need done on linux or openbsd should fall within my abilities. (sorry, no access to solaris, etc., at the present.) Our family's PC is winXP, so I'm running it on XP presently. (oh yeah. about the ms outlook i'm using to send this to you.... don't ask.) If this client will be effective at doing all the things the sourceforge summary says, then it should be an excellent tool. rsvp, and perhaps copy the list so that others will have the same pointers re: beta testing, purpose, present functionality and how to take advantage of it, etc. Thanks, LB |
