#899 end of redisplaying messages displayed somewhere between

The line "-------------------- end of redisplaying older messages --------------------" which should appear after all old messages are
displayed, is shown now somewhere in between or even before all of the old
messages.
(it turns out that the .append() for this line is displayed directly,
while the append for the real chat messages is done inside a call to EDT.
