#2 User configurable hostname escape character

Added an option to allow for user configurable replacement of the '.' within hostname to arbitrary character to allow for easier integration into existing graphite servers store.
Defaults to replacing '.' with '_'.

Inspired by the EscapeCharacter option in collectd Write_Graphite plugin (https://collectd.org/wiki/index.php/Plugin:Write_Graphite)
