Hello everyone, I have just released an update to last week's COLLADA 1.4 preview translator. It includes fixes for external referencing as well as improved inter-operability with the upcoming 3dsMax COLLADA 1.4 preview translator. Two new, user-requested, export options have been added. One allows the user to filter out the external references, while the second dereferences the external references, effectively exporting the externally referenced objects with everything else inside the same COLLADA document. The default is the behavior seen in previous versions, where external references are exported as such within the scene graph. Confirmed the problem with a simple testcase. Maya's API does not directly support reference trees. When retrieving the information for a reference, look for sub-references nodes. On synchronization, flatten the reference tree by recursively processing the references. Split the reference manager code into more manageable pieces. Skip the "_UNKNOWN_REF_NODE" reference nodes that are causing errors. Verified the import. Tested with a more complex test case, where the middle level actually has transforms. Final test: one external referenced file is referenced at multiple levels. Fixed the node id generation algorithm that creates repeated IDs with external references.
