The COLLADA Document Object Model (DOM) is an application programming interface (API) that provides a C++ object representation of a COLLADA XML instance document. Contact a project admin to become a developer!

-NEW: In 2016, COLLADA-DOM is being reinvented from the ground up. It has been inactive for quite some time, and there are copies of the old repository in various places around the WWW. There is a new branch of the original COLLADA-DOM in the branches/2/ directory. This branch can evolve alongside COLLADA-DOM 3, however it's primarily provided to officially (the branch could be created at any time) provide an outlet in the unlikely scenario that anyone may want it.

I (mick-p) apologize for any inconveniences this may cause as the trunk evolves throughout the year 2016. 3 will be a radical departure from COLLADA-DOM's old track record. The core is transitioning to an XML-schema agnostic API, compatible with anything the PHP procedural generator throws at it. The COLLADA model-viewer and its associated components will be retained and continually developed as necessary.

Everything is being rewritten and reinvented so that COLLADA-DOM is able to be an important part of a new COLLADA based initiative called Daedalus that is independent of Khronos.org, both as a matter of fact, but also because Daedalus is a strictly public domain initiative with no strings attached whatsoever, forever.
