I'm new to COLLADA DOM, but a couple hours of searching (this discussion forum and elsewhere) have turned up little for me to go on here. In my efforts to incorporate the DOM into a larger codebase, I'd like to use the existing file writing functionality, which basically requires a string to be passed back up the chain to one central "save" function. This allows the same function to be used to write many different file types.

However, I haven't been able to find the way to take a DAE object and save it to a string variable to be returned instead of a file to be created. I'm looking for something similar to dae.writeAll(); but which could be used in the form string output = dae.writeObjectAsString(); or similar. Does that functionality exist in the DOM? If so, please include a simple usage example.

Thank you!

Cheers,
Jared
