Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Xuefer (xuefer) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: [0.7.1][hn12] xp gui slow down too much when colinux is busy Initial Comment: i'm using autobuild 0.7.1 hn12 at http://wiki.colinux.org/cgi-bin/AutoBuilds -> http://www.henrynestler.com/colinux/autobuild/ devel-2.6.12-hn when i run a program in colinux taking as much cpu as possible, the gui in xp host side have little to no reaction, untill i change priority of colinux- daemon.exe to 1 level lower than normal from xp taskmgr.exe ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Samuel Moffatt (pasamio) Date: 2006-04-03 15:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=757205 I have also had this issue when updatedb (slocate) running and my XP box almost attempting to die. This isn't an issue with colinux but an issue with the way that Windows does task scheduling. Linux has a far better and tolerant method, which is why you have to lower the process of the system. If you run it as a service you will be able to change the priority (check the mailing list or the wiki for more details). Excluding this, it isn't a colinux bug, but a Windows Scheduler failure.
