I don't know if this is helpful, but here's some errors I got, that might point to a larger problem....maybe. I have a Dell Inspiron 600m. The kernel log below has my Hardware configuration. I am running my Kernel 2.6 Gentoo Image, the Gentoo-2.6.7- etc etc As I was running XFCE4. And the xfce4-panel, I was getting these errors, here is the kernel log. The xfce4-panel was crashing as I was getting this log. I am currently running the kernel w/o any swap. I have run xfce4 in the 710 snapshot kernel in the past w/o any swap and w/o any memory accolation errors, so, I thought there might be some problems.
