Hi all, I'm new to CoLinux, but I'm getting towards a setup I'm happy with. I've been experimenting with various ways of running graphical apps - I've used VNC and NX (the latter was surprisingly slow given all I've read about how fast it's meant to be). However, my current setup uses the Cygwin X server - this way the Linux applications "feel" better integrated with Windows. What I would really like are shortcuts to my favourite (co)Linux apps that I can put on my Windows desktop. Currently I have to go into the CoLinux console (or Putty) and launch the apps from the command line. I guess I could create a simple Python script that logs into the running daemon via ssh and launches an app. However, it might be neat to be able to interact directly with the daemon from a Windows app that isn't the console. Can this be done? By the way, one of the reasons I'd like to do it this way is that the CoLinux console seems to occasionally stop working - it either doesn't respond to keypresses or prints junk on the screen (when I type "jdb" it comes out as "^[j^[d^[b" as if my Control key was stuck down). Any thoughts?
