I second this motion.  I can devote some time to looking into what it
will take to run this as a service, although it appears that someone
already used the approach I was going to try.  That being, find a
wrapper program that will allow an ordinary program to be run as a
service and attempt to use it.

I also think it should still be allowed to run the way it does now, too.
